It's the WEEKEND! Whahooo!

I am taking off today for a fabulous weekend with my hunk of a husband... without the kids ( can you believe it?!!!) So if you try to contact me, please be assured that I will respond when I return on Monday.

Thanks to all of you who participated in my little poll regarding my next creation.
It looks like Tink fairy friends took the lead, although I have to all those projects are on my list of "things to do" ;0)

This week was a busy hodgepodge of homeschooling and sewing about 10 hours a day just to justify my little trip this weekend!
Meanwhile I was finishing up my last order, I fashioned a Working Cinderelly sundress for the Simply a Princess line©

I have set up a little poll to determine interest in upcoming designs I may attempt.

I am currently in the middle of getting orders finished and I am brainstorming meanwhile. Even though fall is far off, it's not too early for me to be preparing. Late August through fall happens to be my busiest time of the year as well as spring. I am interested in hearing your ideas! Please feel free to comment here as well concerning something that might not be on the poll. I can't wait to hear from you all!

Also, if you enjoy Facebook, I have opened a fansite and groupsite for Ollie Girl! I am concentrating my efforts now on orders, but look forward to developing those other sites little by little.

Where'd my Couch pillow go??? ;0)

Sometimes life can get so busy. And as a mommy, multi-tasking is second nature. It can be easy to "miss" the little things that bring so much joy to life.
I save almost everything my kids make... I suppose it's my ultra sentimental nature. My children are always crafting something, so you can imagine just how large my collection is ;0)
As I was sorting some fabric, I happened upon this little creation my Susie had fashioned this past Christmas. She generally shares all her creations with me, but I must have missed this one :0(
I was touched by the simplicity and sweetness of her little masterpiece. She was probably right along side of me in my sewing studio searching through my scrap bag and buttons.
Of course I Oh'd and Aw'd over it and she was delighted!
When I asked her how she managed to find stuffing for it, she informed me that a couch pillow seam had opened up and she didn't think it would make a big difference if she "borrowed" a little!;0)

March Already???!!!

So how is it that we are dawning on the spring of 2009 already????
Just crazy how fast time goes by. So in the midst of the crazy weather we've all experienced in the past month or so, I am happy to report that the weather here is warming up and my toes are finally unthawing.
I had my parents here this past weekend visiting and couldn't help but notice the abundance of bird chirping and the fragrance of orange blossom wafting through the late winter air.
Our family has a small organic citrus grove and it's in full blossom right now. We currently have about 8 blood orange trees that are just brimming with a bountiful harvest of fruit. We picked a tree the other day and hardly made a dent in it ;0)

Ollie Girl's Spring/Summer line has had a steady stream of orders creating a need for more sewing time. So I was ever so grateful that
my mother came over with her teacher's cap on and worked on some school with my son for several hours while I sewed away. Thank you mom!!!! I love you!



Meanwhile, my daughter skimmed the internet for Clinique products after my mom introduced them to her ;0) No more Maybelline for this girl! :0)



While the men and my eldest sipped lemonade on the porch patio while chatting and reading the Sunday paper.


So now that the first week of March is upon us, my mind is filled with exciting designs I can't wait to attempt and looking forward to the beautiful season ahead of us! Happy March! Hugz, Angela~ Ollie Girl!
