A Sweet Holiday Treat from the Heart

When my girls came to me asking for ideas to create some handmade goodies for their friends I turned to my fellow DIYers and awesome blogs I've found. We happened across this sweet tutorial to make heart shaped candy cane treats here... so simple and easy!

The only change we made was that we popped our candy cane heart forms into the oven at 200 degrees for about 2 minutes and pinched the edges together once they became soft to reinforce the heart shape. This was the first step we took and prior to pouring the melted chocolate.
As you can see, this is also a great idea to create Valentine treats from your leftover mini candy canes!

When finished they were wrapped in clear cellophane bags with a simple organza bow! So pretty!

... Okay, I know it's a silly title, but it just sounded so fun!!! :)

For the past several years, I have had numerous requests for a Sally dress rendition.

Summertime is just about upon us! I'm so excited for barefoot walks, warm balmy breezes and the scent of the salty ocean. The upcoming season always brings about so many opportunities to spend with family and have fun. The kids will be out of school and life's daily routines tend to become a little more laid back.

With the rest that is before us, I can't help but have a need to stay ahead of the game a bit. Fall season is always such a busy time for customs as everyone seems to need things around the same time for their fall festivities and celebrations.

I thought we'd have a little fun here and perhaps encourage some pre-orders for that busy season ahead of us. To add to the fun, we will be running a contest up until June 30th.

DETAILS- It's really simple! Buy a custom dress and receive one entry toward a grand prize drawing that will be held mid August.

* Each custom dress ordered (accessories, pettiskirts and tops not included in this promotion) will count as one entry.
* All orders MUST BE PAID IN FULL by June 30th to qualify... NO EXCEPTIONS.
* Buyer MUST AGREE TO LATE SEPTEMBER/EARLY OCTOBER DELIVERY ... NO EXCEPTIONS.
* There will be ONE WINNER and prize is non negotiable for cash or substitution.

Cruising upon the summer!

With so many new ideas swarming my head, I decided to take the opportunity of a couple of our models who are heading off on a Disney Cruise. We have decided to incorporate a "Minnie Cruise Collection" which will feature a few must haves for your next cruise!
And so,inspired by this little mouse, some ideas sprang to life into comfortable yet costume-y renditions that are ideal for special pirate events and day to day dress up fun! Behold a "Minnie Cruise Collection" :)

And so we dreamed up some magical new designs... here are a couple of "sneak peeks"

And what would a Plundering Pirate Princess be without without all her piratey treasure?

Then there is a nautical element that must not be overlooked! Ahoy! A fun new rendition of Minnie's sailor dress and a sweet salt water dyed appliqued boat tee! These fun additions will have your little princess singing "On the Good Ship Minnie!"

Of course there are some existing designs that are ideal for cruising and keeping with the fun theme shows and dining events.
Ariel, is one of my favorite Disney princesses. This sweet mermaid rendition has been a proven favorite for the parks as well as cruise vacations.

Something NEW for the NEW Year :)

My poor neglected blog! I suppose using facebook has consumed any energies I have had for writing in light of keeping myself balanced with the Ollie Girl business.

I find it quite funny that the last entry was for the Christmas in July Sale... and I am now finishing up most of those orders! :)

This year has been a very busy one thanks to all of my super wonderful customers!!! Business almost doubled from 2009 and the load I have taken on this year was the biggest yet. I want to express my gratitude for all of your friendship and business. I have met some remarkable people in my ventures with Ollie Girl and wouldn't be in this place without YOU!

As I ponder the coming year, I will be approaching the business a little differently.
There is a need for a faster turnaround time... for your sake and mine too :)!!!

Many have asked how soon to order customs for future trips and vacations.
Since making predictions isn't my best talent, I have decided to offer bookings on a limited basis. They will be available in 5's with a 1-3 week turnaround time. As they are moved, I will offer more bookings depending on my time availability.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

Bookings for custom creations will be announced when available on facebook and here.
They will be on a first come, first serve basis. I will make them available for purchase with a deposit of $25.00 per custom. Upon purchase of the deposit, the buyer will let me know which custom they would like and will be invoiced for the price of the custom minus the deposit price. The deposit price of $25 is applied toward the price of the custom. The remaining payment toward the custom will be due within 24 hours of purchase of the deposit. For buyers who are wanting to book more than one custom, I am happy to combine shipping :).

I will keep an "album" of available designs and current prices for you to view and make your selections.
This "quantity control" will insure that customs are moved much quicker and you will have them in your hands in a very timely manner :)

READY TO SHIP

We are also planning on having a "READY TO SHIP" items from time to time. We will be concentrating on the most popular designs and sizes here. They will be available as we have the time to create them.

Vacation and Christmas in July!

Well, vacation has been restful to say the least! I hope all of you are enjoying a most memorable summer and staying cool!
We will reopen our Etsy Shoppe by August 1st.
Our website, however will be hosting our first ever "Christmas in July" SALE!
Please stay tuned for the details! This SALE will be available to orders placed and paid in full by July 31st for early December delivery. An incentive in place of the discount will be given to those who wish to have delivery by late September.

Well, today is the day... The day our Etsy Shop and website officially goes on vacation for a small hiatus to enjoy summer with the family and some friends.
It truly has been my pleasure to serve so many of you these past months. I appreciate your business and keeping me so busy!

Provincial Belle and a toothache :(

I hope and trust everyone had a restful weekend!
I've been wanting to get sneak images up of Provincial Belle, so here they are finally! My time was consumed this weekend with my little Susie in severe pain with an absessed tooth... not fun! We were actually able to see our dentist Sunday evening to get some relief... so Monday morning, I was finally able to do photos!

Provincial Belle is in the Calico Princess Collection and features a tonal blue pinafore full dress with sewn in apron that ties to fit the dress at the back bodice.
Back bodice has button closures. The sweet white peasant blouse (in keeping with the Calico Princess Collection style) features 3/4 length sleeves with sewn down bows and a slightly V neck collared neckline... trimmed in mini rick rack of course ;)! Sleeve length may be altered to short or long sleeves as well to suit your custom needs.

Happy New Year & Project Pink #1

Happy New Year, friends!!!
During our winter break, I took time to tackle some designs that have been on my drawing board.I have 3 pink projects. Today I share with you the first.
1) Ariel's Pink Dining Gown
This gown was one that I have been pondering for so long now. The question of design I had for this dress was the conflict between the long sleeves design and warm weather ( yes, I do run into designer dead ends :)
Since most of my customers wear their Ollie Girl! to the Happiest Place where the climates are mostly warm, I struggled with my decision.
But alas, I reconciled the problem! I designed the dress with short puffy sleeves and sewed REMOVEABLE matching sleeves which are sort of like arm warmers/faux long gloves.Of course the dress can be made with permanent long sleeves, but I LOVE options, so I am offering the design this way as well.
The pointed wrist hem is trimmed with white pearls, making them oh so Ariel!
This dress is perfect for your pink mermaid princess!
But wait... there's more ;)- This dress is also available in seafoam green like Ariel's Grotto dress for those mermaids who just can't stay away from oceanic tones.
Ariel's Pink Dining Gown belongs to the Calico Princess Collection and features the lines original peasant style. I would be happy to create this dress in a zipper back traditional dress style at your preference as well.
More photos will be available once this dress has been modeled.

Another fun design I worked on in the beginning of the month was a Mary Poppins sheer under blouse to be worn underneath the Simply a Princess, Mary Poppins sundress. The underblouse is embellished with pretty lace and sequin detail on organza. The result was simply adorable and added another dimension to the versatility of the dress!

Season of Celebration

How did we end up here in December so quickly??
In this past month my son celebrated his 12th birthday, had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and then celebrated my dear husbands 37th birthday just last weekend.
It's been a whirlwind of celebrations, hugs, calories and sewing Ollie Girl customs every moment in between!
This weekend marks my dear husband and my 18th anniversary. We will be traveling to our favorite beachside destination and for the grand finale, Disneyland! I am so thankful for my beloved and what a wonderful relationship we have. God is so good.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend and are able to squeeze in those little moments to celebrate... even a smile is worth a celebration, wouldn't you agree? :D

It's hard to believe that the Holiday season for 2009 is already upon us!

Welcome Fall and some Disney fun

So fall is upon us, and once again I was aching to see Disney in all it's fallish splendor. Well, my wish came true... a year long wish to be exact! Disney all year long as an early birthday present from my parents! (thanks mom and dad!)
Right in Thunder Ranch is the most fantabulous display of carved pumpkins and autumn photo ops. Disney hires professional pumpkin carvers to add daily to the pumpkin patch that happens to be full of "character" ;)
I am almost finished with my lump sum of fall customs! Whew! A big hug and thank you to all my faithful customers who keep me so busy. I really enjoy creating for all those cute little Ollie Girls out there. My next venture is to creates some new designs and then have a little time to relax during the holidays. For now, the last day to submit custom orders ready by early December is by this Thursday, October 15th. I may list some ready to ship items as I have the time thereafter if I have the time.
Well, it's back to the sewing studio for me! Thank you once again to all my Ollie Girl friends! May your fall be delightful and filled with lots of fun!

Where'd summer go??

It's that time of year again... back to school, early mornings and no more sleeping in :(
Well, as much as I enjoy the non stucturous summer itinerary, I do eventually crave a schedule. So here we are once again in that season.

I realize that there's been a HUGE gap in my postings. Apparently being caught up in the Facebook world I've managed to forget about my cute little blog... so here goes!

I have remained steadily busy ever since late winter. I am so thankful for my faithful customers who have kept me so busy. Halloween orders have been pouring in since early summer. The deadline to order for Halloween delivery is September 24th. I hope to accomodate as many customers as possible for this time. For timely delivery, please make sure to order your items no later than this date.

I will be accepting a limited amount of custom orders up until October 15th and for the rest of 2009. So if you have Christmas items in mind, they will need to be ordered by that date in order to be filled for early December delivery. I was delighted to receive such gorgeous images from my models who came together for a group shoot to showcase our newest fairies for the My Fairy Friends Collection.
I was anxious to have these up prior to the fall to make sure we had our fairy bases covered ;0)
Each fairy's design has detailing unique to each character. Wings, pixie shoes and wands are available additionally as matching accessories and not included with the dresses.

Kool- Aid Snow Cones

Every summer, my kids pull out the snow cone maker (if it made it through the prior summer) and are ready for their cool summer treats.
We couldn't seem to find a store that sold the traditional syrup we normally purchased in the summers past. So I had this earth shattering idea to use those Kool-Aid packets I used to love as a kid.
The result.... a totally new addiction! The syrups we concocted were simply delicious and taste so much better than store-bought.
The recipe is simple. One cup sugar, one cup water, one Kool-Aid packet..... That's it! We stored ours in platic water bottles and have quite the assortment for whatever flavor you happen to be in the mood for!
Now how you achieve your snow will be up to your own creativity. We have a small ice shaver machine but a regular blender set to the highest speed setting should work well. I don't recommend the Snoopy Snow cone machine, unless you want a melted snow cone;0)

It's true what they say... every girl is a princess... including Alice!
I had this almost finished quite a while back when I was encouraged by one of my wonderful Ollie Girl customers to add Alice to the arsenal of the Simply a Princess© Collection. Of course there are plenty of others to add, and I will get to them as I have the time.
It's been a busy season preparing for everyone's trips to Disney, birthday parties and what not. You all know that I love it though! Even though I have sewn atleast 50 Snow White gowns, I can almost do it in my sleep now! ;0)
Even though we are just getting our toes wet with summer, I find myself looking forward to the fall season ahead. I have many designs I am hoping to debut and new renditions on my drawing board.

I am encouraging my customers and potential clients to think early for fall so I can have customs out to you by late September for you to enjoy it throughout the entire fall festivities.

I have been anxiously awaiting the modeled pictures of my newest design, Iridessa for Ollie Girl's , My Fairy Friends Collection. I just knew the pictures would turn out great. I was excited about having images with more than one subject. I love seeing my designs come alive on my little models and customers. My mannequin works decently, but smiling little princesses give that much more life to my creations.
I naturally always gravitate to yellow... it's such a cheerful color! Iridessa is 2nd in the series of this collection. Stay tuned for Silvermist and Rosetta... coming soon!

So, been working away here at Ollie Girl's Pixie Hollow;0)
These designs are officially off to my models... the dresses always look so much better on my little models!

Iridessa's dress is a vivid yellow tonal halter dress with a double sunflower petal peplum, shirred elastic back for a perfect fit, elastic ruffled shoulder straps and an option to have tulle or not!

In the meanwhile, in anticipation for the model shoot I decided to pair them with some made to match fairy footwear ;0) Each pair of soft satin slippers is "watercolored" for a tonal look to match each fairy's dress. Blingy flowers add the perfect finishing touch.

FFA Fun

My daughter is actively involved in our local chapter of Future Farmers of America.
This past weekend she participated in a plant sale at her highschool. The community comes out and is able to purchase plants and produce that the High School students here raise as part of their Agricultural Science Elective classes.
My daughter raised some honey suckle plants as well as sold some fruit from our little organic orchard.
It was a beautiful day! I took a small tour of the Agriculture Department of her high school and taken back by all the beauty of the plants grown by her fellow classmates. The new green house was so exciting to see. My daughter helped lay the pipes for the new greenhouse during her class time. So exciting to see the end results!

When a customer recently approached me asking me to design her an adult sized Wendy Costume, I was excited about the idea. I have sewn for my own children and self in the past in larger sizes, but this was going to be the first "Ollie Girl!" adult sized creation! My eldest daughter, has some striking resemblances to Wendy and immediately wanted one herself! She had so much fun doing her own hair for our little photo shoot. I think she did great! She is tickled to officially be an Ollie Girl! ;0)

Another fun Alice rendition

When a customer approached me with the idea to do a rendition of the National English Ballet gown, I was immediately inspired. The traditional styling of this dress along with the whimsical details would allow for me to run wild with some sideline fun ;0)
The dress is constructed of 100% cotton sateens, which you must know was a DREAM for me to work with! It's hard to beleive a cotton can have such a natural sheen, but there it was... just beautiful!
The dresses details include double eyelett ruffled sleeve hems, 3 rows of satin ribbon at the dress hemline, covered buttons with a removeable apron. The apron is sateen as well and has beautiful stitch detailing, velvet trim, double ruffles, pockets, and Alice's key to unlock the magical fun of her Wonderland world!
This dress is worn with a pettiskirt to showcase it's fullness.

This week was a busy hodgepodge of homeschooling and sewing about 10 hours a day just to justify my little trip this weekend!

Susie's Penguin

Sometimes life can get so busy. And as a mommy, multi-tasking is second nature. It can be easy to "miss" the little things that bring so much joy to life.
I save almost everything my kids make... I suppose it's my ultra sentimental nature. My children are always crafting something, so you can imagine just how large my collection is ;0)
As I was sorting some fabric, I happened upon this little creation my Susie had fashioned this past Christmas. She generally shares all her creations with me, but I must have missed this one :0(
I was touched by the simplicity and sweetness of her little masterpiece. She was probably right along side of me in my sewing studio searching through my scrap bag and buttons.
Of course I Oh'd and Aw'd over it and she was delighted!
When I asked her how she managed to find stuffing for it, she informed me that a couch pillow seam had opened up and she didn't think it would make a big difference if she "borrowed" a little!;0)

March Already???!!!

So how is it that we are dawning on the spring of 2009 already????
Just crazy how fast time goes by. So in the midst of the crazy weather we've all experienced in the past month or so, I am happy to report that the weather here is warming up and my toes are finally unthawing.
I had my parents here this past weekend visiting and couldn't help but notice the abundance of bird chirping and the fragrance of orange blossom wafting through the late winter air.
Our family has a small organic citrus grove and it's in full blossom right now. We currently have about 8 blood orange trees that are just brimming with a bountiful harvest of fruit. We picked a tree the other day and hardly made a dent in it ;0)

Ollie Girl's Spring/Summer line has had a steady stream of orders creating a need for more sewing time. So I was ever so grateful that
my mother came over with her teacher's cap on and worked on some school with my son for several hours while I sewed away. Thank you mom!!!! I love you!

Meanwhile, my daughter skimmed the internet for Clinique products after my mom introduced them to her ;0) No more Maybelline for this girl! :0)

While the men and my eldest sipped lemonade on the porch patio while chatting and reading the Sunday paper.

So now that the first week of March is upon us, my mind is filled with exciting designs I can't wait to attempt and looking forward to the beautiful season ahead of us! Happy March! Hugz, Angela~ Ollie Girl!

Okay, I appreciate all of you who are being so patient with those last 2 designs for the Simply a Princess line.
We have had rain galore here! So I got outside and snuck a few pictures of Tinkerbell's ensemble.

Now, since a fairy isn't theoretically a princess, I have chosen to put her under the "My Fairy Friends" category. Tink is my only fairy I have at this point, however if you would like a different fairy, I will happily make them at your request.
My Fairy Friends© line will be included with the Simply a Princess© 3 for the price of 2. I have chosen to extend this offer for one more week, as many of you were waiting to see Tink and Ariel... again, thank you for your patience!

Traditionally Fairy wings are netted and see-through, however in my venture to be a wee bit different and deviate from the norm...
I have fashioned some untraditional pixie wings using a beautiful embroidered white cotton fabric with irredecent sequins! These sweet wings are sparkly, soft and quilted over for texture. They are double sided and feature a soft padded feel. The center lavender rosette is of a sparkly cotton with some green pearl tulle peeking from under. These wings are a HUGE favorite of mine since they are so unique!
Please contact me if you are interested in a pair. I can customize colors, fabrics and center wing embellishings to your liking.
Wings are not included with the Tinkerbell dress, but sold seperately.

Happy Birthday Sweet Little Susie!

My sweet second born, Susannah just celebrated her 13th Birthday just this past weekend along with some friends from school and church. Her Aunt Michelle put on a Regency Era, Jane Austen themed birthday for her and did a most excellent job! Hugs Aunt Michelle!
Susannah was inspired to have a "ball" for a birthday after watching (about 50 times :0) "Pride and Prejudice".
Her gown was made by me, in the style of Jane Benett. We changed a few details and had so much fun with it!
The day included a punch bowl, games, tea, sandwiches and a candlelit dinner and dancing! The house was dim with a roaring fire in the fireplace and candles everywhere! We had guests play on the piano forte' and it was simply a lovely party!

It's so hard to believe that time has gone as fast as it has. Susannah , now preferring to be called "Susie" is truly growing up. She is always rising to the task when something needs to be done. She loves to bake up yummy goodies for her daddy and to take to church. She truly has a servants heart and a gentle spirit.
Susannah has blessed our lives in so many ways and I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful daughter. Happy Birthday my sweet Susie! I love you to the moon and back!

One of my other favorite past times other than sewing is painting.
When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband enrolled me in a tole painting class. As my instructor urged me on with my talent,my love for painting grew into a small business I had during the early 90's. I phased it out after having my 3rd child.
I recently decided to pull out the paint brushes again and give it a go...on a tote! So here it is! Ta da!!!
Each side features Cinderella's little friends. The inside can be personalized if you wish!
After finishing my latest rendition of Cinderella's pink ballgown, I couldn't resist adding some "character" to an "Ollie matchie accessorie"! ;0)
I have to say I had a blast painting it!

Is today really already the 17th?

This week has been such a busy week. This time of the year just proves time and again to be crazy! I hope you are all enjoying the festivities of this beautiful season. In the midst of the "busy-ness" try to enjoy those precious moments with your loved ones. I was just tucking my 16 year old daughter in bed, and as I prayed and hugged her goodnight, I couldn't help but remember her being a tiny little girl... seemed just like yesterday ;0)

I am so proud of my Kristina. Only 3 awards given out to individual members on the Field Hockey team and my daughter landed the one that makes my heart sing,
"Most Inspirational".
Her encouragement, love and positive attitude made her the recipient of this award and as you can see, she is quite excited about it too!

Susannah, my youngest daughter came out yesterday after hand sewing this beautiful poinsettia and was very proud of it! I have to say, I was quite impressed and nevertheless had to share it with all of you!
This Poinsettia would make a beautiful package tie on or embellishment to top your bake goods upon presentation. The beautiful poinsettia petals are hand sewn of felt and have button centers. So sweet!!!

My son, Michael is the sweetest most caring little guy:0) When I asked him what sort of party and meal he wanted for his birthday, he simply said " A surfing party with a turkey dinner". Well, days and days of prep went into his meal alone! I was tired, but it was so worth it just to see his face beam with excitement.
His special day was filled with his family, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends. What a special day! What a wonderful son God has blessed me with!

His cake was at his request, a carrot cake from scratch. We made a giant rice crispy treat in the shape of a wave and frosted it on top of his carrot cake with homemade cream cheese frosting (dyed blue of course!) We found little surfboards online and I found a picture of him in his wetsuit, and we printed it out to personalize his cake futher. Gummy fish and sharks swam beneath the ocean's surface. A sandy platform (brown sugar) made a "sweet" ocean floor!

I have always been weak for a big scoop of peppermint ice cream and I have to say that Dreyer's (known as Edy's back east) makes TDF Slow Churned Holiday flavors.
One of them just happens to be Peppermint Stick! Mmmmm Mmmm!
I don't know how they pull it off, but their "slow churned" varieties supposedly contain 1/2 the fat of regular ice cream and it's fabulous! So that being said, perhaps I need to go have just one more scoop! ;0)
Oh and by the way, they have an Egg Nog and Pumpkin flavor available that I need to give a try!

I thought I'd share a recipe as I start to kick off my holiday baking season :0)
This one has got to be one of my favorites!
Think...soft, moist, melt-in-your-mouth gingerbread cookies!
Yum!
My family always enjoys these. My mother passed down this recipe to me and I always remember as a child how much I enjoyed these.
Simply slip on a festive apron, play some Christmas tunes and be prepared to fill you home with the sweet aroma of a "spicy" holiday!

OOPS! The directions say "vanilla" in the first step. Please realize that there is no vanilla in this recipe and was printed by mistake. You may add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the recipe if you like ;0)

Hello everyone, sorry it's been awhile! I've been busy with orders and getting ready for my sons birthday! He has informed me he wants a turkey dinner for his party! Imagine how busy I'll be! So I've been taking baby steps toward the meal. Today we made our cranberry sauce and jello salad.I will post more this coming week. Until then, I leave you with a view of my hometown from the bleachers at my daughter's field hockey game at Fallbrook High. She had her last game yesterday and won ;)

So, the other day while I was out purchasing yardage for some current projects I happened upon this super adorable flannel Holiday Penguin fabric! These cute whimsical Penguins are rather large in scale, and I couldn't resist some yardage! It brought back the memory of my first born daughter and I making penguins from her thumb and pointer finger with paint on a cermamic planter for a teacher's gift.

You can paint these adorable penguins on anything, and what makes them so unique is that they are made from your own child fingerprints..which any grandparent or loved one adores! :0)

Fingerprint Penguins
You will need:
Some sort of blank for your art work ie. ceramic pot, blank greeting card, wood ornament blank, the options are endless! Use your imagination!
Black acrylic paint
White acrylic paint
Red Acrylic paint
Orange Acrylic paint
Black Sharpie pen.
Squeeze a small amount of black paint onto a paper plate. Press your child's thumb into the paint and firmly place it on the area you would like for your "penguin" to be. Allow black paint to dry. Once the black paint has thoroughly dried, squeeze a small amount of white paint onto a paper plate. Taking the child's pointer finger or pinky, place it in the paint and press child's finger in the center of the black thumbprint creating the "belly and face of the penguin.
If your child is too young to fill in the rest of the details, paint a small red triangle on the head of your penguin and allow to dry, you may paint the white trim once the red has dried. Paint orange feet at the base of the penguin and a beak on it's face. Allow to dry.
Now taking a sharpie pen make two small dots for eyes and a smile if you like off the sides of the beak! Now your child has their own penguin!
If you really want to get creative, you can create a "scene" for your penguin. For example snowy hills, pine trees, igloos... let your child decide for more fun!

I celebrated entering into my mid 30's this past Sunday. My daughter celebrated her sweet 16 only 13 days prior. She had an Alice in Wonderland party and it was a riot! All of her friends were assigned a character from the story in their own interpretaion, and I had no idea that they would participate so nicely! Anyhow, my fabulous Sister in Law, Michelle and my brother threw her the party and made this fabulous cake! Michelle has already been enlisted for weddings, baby showers and other parties. I am in awe of her creativity.

It's Pixie Dust Fairy, Tink!!!

I had fun with little Ely capturing her as Tinkerbell, her "favoritist" fairy!
This sweet rendition of Tinkerbell is not a new design of mine, however I have incorporated a fabulous 100% Cotton pixie dust marble lime fabric featuring "pixie dust" glitter:0)
The bodice and straps are completely lined.
Unfortunately, I could not capture the glitzy bling of the fabric, in this photo however it is undoubtedly sparkly!!
This set is available and has only been worn once for these modeling photos. It is a size 5T/6. If you are interested, please email me or watch for the listing starting early tomorrow.

A "Spook-tacular" sight!

I just came in from a very busy fun filled weekend! I plan on posting much more in the coming week, but thought I'd share a fun image I captured while in line for "Nightmare Before Christmas" ride at Disneyland. I have to say it was quite fun!
They ended up closing the park early for a Sweet 16 Celebration event for Miley Cyrus. I couldn't believe how much they whooped it up for her. I was told that for 2009, Disney's whole theme is going to be "What will you celebrate?" and guests will be admitted in free on their birthday! I believe the event was sort of a kick off for that promotion. Anyhow, tons of little girls frolicked around the park in their Hannah Montana get ups! It was a fun sight to see all the excitement.

My Sweet 16

Happy Birthday to my dear firstborn, Kristina!
I am more than blessed to have a daughter as sweet as her. She truly has a heart for others all brought about by her relationship with the Lord.

Kristina has always been a very adventurous funny girl... not afraid to be herself and has a love for Tiki men!

Where did time go?
I remember lying on my back tossing her about on my feet up in the air while we laughed and watched Sesame Street...
Where did time go???
She always had her hand in mine and reminded me to pray for others.
I would think... "how wonderful to have this child by my side...
it will be years before she's even in school...
we have all the time in the world together."

Many of you may have children my daughter's age, perhaps older, and very likely.... younger. I want to encourage you to enjoy your time with your little ones. Life can get so busy, and before you know it, years have gone by.
Take time to be silly with them. Get on the floor with them and view things from their perspective, because all too soon they are looking at you eye to eye, or perhaps they may even pass you up! Seize the moments you have and enjoy those blessings in your life.

There is so much in life to be thankful for.
Thanksgiving has to be one of my favorite holidays and it's right around the corner!
So I thought I'd share a few of my "favorite things"over the next few days that I am thankful for.. and possibly make it my theme for the upcoming season for Ollie Girl!

Here they are about 8 years ago! My 3 precious blessings. Children have a way of changing you. Sure they are a lot of work, but their love and companionship is the best~! I have to have atleast one of them with me whenever I head out for my errands. It's so fun to have that one on one time with them and have lots of heart to heart.
Aren't they cute atop my husbands old GMC and the Liquid Amber tree in the background! This has to be one of my favorite pictures :0)
I'll post again tomorrow, now it's off to work I go!

I was a double stroller pushing mama with one at my side. Where did the time go? I am sure I was stressed out here, but looking back at this photo I looked quite content! This photo is now on my refrigerator as a sweet reminder to me to be content in every season of life, and yes... take off about 25 pounds! LOL

I hope you are seizing the moments you have with your loved ones.
It hard to believe that I am nearing my 35th birthday, have an almost 16 year old daughter, 12 and half year old daughter and a 10 year old son!
One thing hasn't changed here though...
My unchanging God loves me just the same! :0)

Cinderella's Pumpkin Coach & Pineapples :0)

I wanted to share with you all some exciting photos we captured in our garden the other day. First of all, our pumpkin ... and it's humble beginning ;0) Actually it's bigger today, but I thought I'd share with you what our pumpkin looks like right before it's bloom falls off.
We have never grown pumpkins before, so as you can imagine this is quite exciting!!!

And yes, this is a pineapple plant! It's hard to believe that all you need to do to grow a pineapple is cut off the top of an existing one and stick it in the ground to root! But it is really that simple! In the background, a vibrant orange bloom from our pumpkin vine.

Well.. this is my exciting news for the day :0) Many of you know that I am working on filing custom orders, so my new designs are sparce. I will be listing some items this coming Sunday for Poppy Streets Holiday Traditions Launch.
